Safira and I in Haida Gwaii. 2025.
About
Since I completed my term on council in 2021, my life has been busy and eventful.
In 2021 I joined the army reserve. I’ve been all over the country training and working to become a lieutenant in the armoured corps. It’s been challenging and rewarding.
I moved to Edmonton. My partner was accepted into a Masters program studying community engagement. It was hard for me to leave Medicine Hat, not knowing when I’d be back, but it was a great opportunity for Safira.
While in Edmonton, I was fortunate to get a job with Alberta Municipalities. Alberta Municipalities is a member organization for most urban municipalities in the province. Working as a policy analyst helped me gain a provincial perspective on the municipal issues we’re facing here.
I was happy to move back to Medicine Hat in September 2024. Safira applied for and got a job with the City of Medicine Hat working in community engagement—her field of study. I now work for the South Alberta Light Horse Regiment at the armoury. We are both happy to be back in our neighborhood on the Hill!
I was born in Pune, India and moved to Lacombe, Alberta when I was ten. I've lived in many places across Canada and am proud to call Medicine Hat my home.
